Black and White

I came up with this different hijab style today. I know it does not seem like your average or typical comfortable hijab style. I feel like this is sort of artistic and creative. It is like a combination of two hijab styles into one. I may do a hijab tutorial video soon inshallah. I know it looks like one half of one thing and another. But really focus and take a look at how this "whip effect" could actually work. Let me know what you think.

Nice gifts

I am super duper excited. My hubby just got back from his trip and brought back some lovely gifts. I can't wait to share. I got like 10 hijabs and a few underscarves as well. Awesome! Yeah, I know. I was actually surprised that he knew exactly what I like. Well I will maybe feature them in a video soon inshallah.  Yay!!! Woohoo! (Insert backflip NOW!)

Okay love you all! Peace and blessings unto you all!

New Face on the Tube

Salam walaikum,

I have a new youtube channel. I was inspired by a dear friend of mine to make videos. I can be a little silly and wacky at times. I thought it would be fun to chronicle my journey both here on my blog and on video.
I hope you will subscribe. I plan on doing some hijab tutorials and fashion outfits of the day. I hope to hear from you soon inshallah.

You live and You learn

I was performing my prayers yesterday when my toddler decided to climb on top of me during prostration. He is innocent and really doesn't know much. My goal is that he will soon copy me because he is at this learning stage. After prayers, I took some time to reflect on how far I have come to now. I would have never thought of myself being a mom now. I am grateful that I am because you see how much you sacrifice for them. You will literally give up your plate of food for them in a heart beat (if you have to). I have been so busy with the kids that I haven't had a chance to really do some other projects. I figured I would put up this blog post because not only is it therapeutic but it is also a good way for you too look through my window of life.

I was also thinking of participating in hijabi fashion week. Are any of you thinking about it? Please let me know. I have a few ideas of some outfits I would like to put together. I like to come up with my own style now. I have gotten comfortable with some hijab styles and some clothing as well.

Now that I am a muslimah, I have had to an intervention on my closet. No, SERIOUSLY!! I was wearing lots of stuff that just can't be worn now. So I decided to donate the clothes to charity and also sending some of my kids clothes (that no longer fits them) to my country's poor.

I hope everyone is well and in good health. Until the next post (inshallah)...
BarakAllahfiz

Photo Session

So yesterday I decided to take some pictures of myself with the scarf that my mother bought me. Yes, surprising isn't it? My mother bought me one. So this is a great step in the right direction. I was very happy and I took some pictures with it on. Check it out. Let me know what you think? Oh yeah and I don't know where she got it from. I will have to ask. I did get creative with it. <3
Peace and blessings to all.

Salam walaikum Sisters

I just entered a contest. My first time entering any contest on youtube. Ha Ha! A sister youtuber that goes by the name of hijabifiedchika has a contest going on. I will link the video that gives all the details. I entered my photo on her facebook fanpage. I thought maybe trendy hijabi was the best look I could go for.

Parent Teacher Conference

Salam everyone!

I had parent teacher conference yesterday. I have a six year old daughter in the first grade and she has excellent grades. So, I got her report card and was extremely pleased. At the beginning of the year she was weak in mathematics but now she has gotten much better in that area. I had been working hard with her to strengthen her problem solving skills and comprehension. I know math is not easy for a first grader but I did what I could do to make it easy for her. I bought workbooks and also used basic problem solving skills in our daily activities. She is doing much better now and I am pleased. As a treat I brought her to Target to have pizza and an frozen ice drink. This is the outfit that I wore to the meeting. I am wearing a similar black pashmina hijab as from before. I have on a long sleeve grayish bluish shirt from the Gap. The abstract print dress is from Forever 21. My jeans are from Old Navy and my shoes are from Target.

Going Out..

On Saturday I went to a kid's birthday party with my sister. It was nice for the kids to play with other kids. I wanted to look my best and still be modest. I wore a black maxi dress from Marshalls paired with a blue long sleeve crew neck shirt. I wore a black pashmina hijab to complete the look. I could have accesorized it up but when you have a toddler that pulls at everything and wants to eat everything. It just becomes some what of a hazard. I had a good time. Here are some pics of that day. Hope you likey! Salam Walaikum

It gets better...

So now my life as a hijabi has completely bettered my life and health. I don't know how to quite explain it but my overall emotional health has improved. I have this unique inner glow and self confidence. I feel like I just followed my spiritual heart and Allah (swt) has guided me to the right path.
